Total Time Needed: 1-2 Hours
Today's busy families have hectic schedules. To keep track of who's doing what, you need an organizing system that's a bit more sophisticated than the refrigerator door and a bunch of magnets.
Materials
- Corkboard
- Fabric
- Ribbon
- Sheetrock screws
- Bulldog clips
- Painted wood
- Circular name tags
Instructions
1. We tacked our fabric to the back with thumbtacks, then created a grid with ribbon for holding notecards, securing each crossing point with upholsterer's tacks.
2. Screw the board to the wall with Sheetrock screws, hiding the screw head behind the ribbon if possible.
3. Place beside a month-at-a-glance calendar (for recording all family events) and a small chalkboard or dry-erase board (for day-to-day notes and reminders).
4. Clip Key Papers
Keep a firm grip on important papers such as soccer schedules, school lunch menus and permission slips with these personalized clips. Each bulldog clip is screwed to a strip of painted wood and customized with a circular name tag (held on by an upholsterer's tack). More frenetic households may need to give each member an in-box (a wicker basket, decorated shoe box or an actual in-box from an office supply store) into which can go mail, phone messages and schedule reminders.
