The Miniature Party calls for a scaled-down birthday cake - and this one fits the occasion just right.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp. fondant(see Tester's Tip below)
- Cornstarch
- 2 chocolate sandwich cookies
- 2 tsp. frosting
- Food coloring
- Mini sugar flowers
- Birthday candle, cut in half
Instructions
- Roll out a walnut-size piece of fondant to 1/4-inch thickness, dusting it with cornstarch as needed. Stack the cookies as shown and join them with 1 teaspoon of frosting.
- Frost the "cake," then drape with fondant, trimming the edges.
- Using a clean paintbrush, make designs with food coloring thinned with water. Decorate with sugar flowers and half a candle.
- Tip: Fondant is an extra-smooth icing that can be rolled out like cookie dough and draped over cakes. It's available at party-supply stores.
