by Anne Coleman

What you'll need

  • Cheese slices
  • Red pepper
  • Deviled egg
  • Wax-covered mini cheese wheel, such as Babybel
  • Clementine
  • Green leaf lettuce
  • Baby carrots
  • Black and green olives
  • Strawberries
  • Circular lunch container

How to make it

  1. Make your child's favorite sandwich and cut into a butterfly shape. Use cheese and red pepper cut-outs to decorate the wings. The butterfly's body is a red pepper strip.
  2. Cut the center of a wax-covered baby cheese into the shape of a flower, and decorate the center with a red pepper circle.
  3. Add a deviled egg to the garden as a "tulip."
  4. Set the wax flower cut from the mini cheese on top of a clementine for more color.
  5. Fill the box with a background of green lettuce, arranging the butterfly and flowers on top. Use baby carrots, black and green olives and strawberries as fill-ins for the garden.
