Racking your brain for after-school snack ideas or lunch box treats? These pinwheels are super fun! Your kids will be begging for more. Even better, this flexible recipe allows you to play around with flavor combinations; you can wrap 'em up sweet or savory. Try ham and cheese spread with avocado, or hummus and roasted peppers. Anything goes when it's all wrapped up.
What you'll need
- 2 (8-10-inch) flour tortillas
- 1 (8 ounce) package of cream cheese, room temperature
- 1/2 cup seedless strawberry jam (or other flavor of your chose)
Helpful Tip:
Swap out the cream cheese for peanut butter.
How to make it
- Place tortillas side by side onto a flat surface. Divide the cream cheese in half and spread onto each tortilla leaving a 1/2-inch border.
- Divide the jam in half and spread a thin layer over cream cheese, keeping most of it in the center of the wrap, allowing a border of cream cheese to remain (this will help with sealing).
- Roll tortillas up tightly into 2 logs. If the tortilla wraps aren't sealing well, add a little more cream cheese to create a seal.
- Refrigerate rolls for 15-20 minutes until the cream cheese firms up (which will make cutting easier).
- Remove wraps from refrigerator and cut into 16 even pieces using a very sharp knife (serrated works well too).
