My husband loves root beer floats. They remind him of his childhood and his trips to Purity Ice Cream with his grandparents. When we were on vacation in Florida recently we went to a soda fountain and he got a root beer creme. I always thought a root beer float was when there was vanilla ice cream on top of root beer, but this was different. The root beer and the vanilla ice cream were blended together. It was like a giant cup of root beer ice cream. There was even a little hint of carbonation. It was wonderful! I think for Father’s Day I am going to make him one at home for a special treat!
Blended Root Beer Creme
Ingredients
- 3 scoops vanilla ice cream
- 1 8-ounce can root beer
- Whipped Cream
- Cherry
Method
1. Place the ice cream and root beer in the blender and close with a lid. Blend it on high speed for three minutes. It will be foamy and frothy which is fine.
2. Pour the creme into a frosted mug and top with whipped cream and a cherry!
