This project is so easy your kids will want to make several! These cute haunted houses can be used as decorations or you can fill them with treats and send them home as party favors.
What you'll need
- Brown paper lunch bag
- Construction paper: black, white, tan, yellow, brown, green, gray, orange
- Black fine or medium tip marker
- Gray and white acrylic paint
- Paintbrush
- 1-2 cotton balls
- Glue stick
- Scissors
- Stapler
- Newspaper or treats for filler
- Pattern

These make great Halloween party favor bags. Uses as a craft for party goers so they can decorate their own goodie bags! Make several of these, punch a hole in the center of the roof, thread with string and hang from a tree outside your house. Simplify this project for smaller children by precutting the pattern pieces for them. Makes a fun craft kit!
How to make it
- Keep lunch bag folded and lay on table with folded bottom facing down.
- Paint the side of the bag that is facing up with gray acrylic paint and set aside to dry.
- Cut eye and mouth windows from yellow construction paper. Use black marker to draw on details according to pattern.
- Cut shudders from brown construction paper. Use black marker to draw on details according to pattern.
- Cut house windows from black construction paper.
- Cut ghosts and ghoul arm from white construction paper. Use black marker to draw on details according to pattern.
- Cut tombstone from tan construction paper. Use black marker to draw on details according to pattern.
- Cut pumpkins from orange construction paper. Use black marker to draw on details according to pattern.
- Cut door from green construction paper. Paint a gray window onto the door. Draw on a door knob with black marker.
- When gray paint on bag is dry, draw on bricks using a black marker (see pattern).
- Open bag and fill with crumpled newspaper or treats. Do not fold over top of bag, just staple it shut.
- Cut a piece of black construction paper 9” x 6” and fold it in half lengthwise. Use glue stick to attach eye and mouth windows to one side of the black sheet.
- Glue on windows and door first, next add ghosts and ghoul arm, then shudders. Glue the tombstone and then the pumpkins to the bag and draw details on door with black marker. Dot on two ghoul eyes with handle end of paintbrush and white paint.
- Glue construction paper roof on top of bag.
- Glue parts of stretched out cotton ball(s) as details around windows, door and roof.
