I think candy canes are my favorite of all Christmas candy. I would eat them all year round if I could — thank goodness I can’t! The other day I decided to take the mug cake fad to a new level and add in some of our favorite candy. I stirred together the ingredients, added a sprinkle of crush candy cane and a drop of peppermint extract and popped it in the microwave. You can not believe how tasty and easy it was! So delish! I had better not tell my daughter how easy it is to make these, she will want it all the time.
Chocolate Candy Cane Mug Cake
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons flour
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons cocoa
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 drop peppermint extract
Directions
1. Mix the flour, sugar and cocoa in the mug. Add the egg and mix well. Then add the oil, milk and peppermint extract and stir until thoroughly combined.
2. Microwave the mug for 2 minutes, top with whipped cream, add in some candy canes for garnish and serve.
