Party Nibbles: Sweet and Spicy Walnuts

Party Nibbles: Sweet and Spicy Walnuts

By Kelsey Banfield

Sweet WalnutsSweet & Spicy Walnuts is one of those recipes that I just love for entertaining. It is fast, easy and delicious. I can whip them up and have them in the oven in under 10 minutes. Sometimes I even toss them into cute little treat baggies and hand them out as gifts as people leave, or gift them to hostess for a cute thank you. No matter where you serve them you can always plan on one thing, there are never any leftovers.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups walnuts
  • 1 egg white
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher salt

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 300ºF and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

2. Place nuts in a large glass bowl. Then add all of the ingredients into the bowl with the nuts and toss well with a wooden spoon or clean hands.

3. Spread the nuts in one even layer on a cookie sheet and bake for 30 minutes. Make sure to turn the nuts at the 15-minute mark to make sure they brown evenly.

4. After baking cool to room temperature and place in gift bags or an airtight container. They will stay fresh in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
