Give dinnertime a fun twist tonight with this Potato Chip Grilled Cheese Sloppy Joe Sandwich. Make it with ground turkey for a version that’s lower in fat that traditional beef sloppy joes, then pop it between two slices of sourdough, top it with potato chips, and grill to golden brown perfection. It’s the perfect way to breathe a little life into the same old, and join the age-old game of fabulous foodie-ness!

Potato Chip Grilled Cheese Sloppy Joe Sandwiches
Quick and easy to make, this fun recipe adds a fun twist to traditional sloppy joes and grilled cheese sammies!
Makes 8 servings
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients
- 1/2 pound ground turkey or ground chicken
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
- 4 slices American cheese
- 1/2 cup plain wavy potato chips
- 8 slices sourdough bread
- 4 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- In a large skillet, brown ground turkey over medium heat. Add barbecue sauce and remove from heat.
- Heat a grill pan or griddle over medium-low heat. Layer turkey filling, potato chips, and a slice of American cheese on top of four slices of bread. Top with a second slice of bread. Butter the bottom of a grill pan, and cook sandwiches until golden brown in hot grill pan. Spread butter on the top piece of bread, flip sandwiches carefully with a spatula and cook on the second side until golden brown. Remove and serve immediately. Enjoy!
