What you'll need

  • Cardboard tube (recommended: toilet paper tube)
  • Acrylic craft paint in pastel or spring colors
  • Paintbrush
  • Scissors

Helpful Tip:

Instead of painting on the details, try painting the tubes a solid color then decorating with stickers or with paint pens.

Save cardboard tubes from bathroom tissue and paper towels for fun projects like this.

Make personalized egg holders by painting tubes, then writing family members names on them instead of decorating.

How to make it

1. Cut cardboard tube into 3 equal pieces.

2. Paint the outside of each cardboard tube.

3. Use a paintbrush to decorate the outside with contrasting colors. Try thin vertical stripes with different colored dots, or use the handle end of a paintbrush dipped in paint to draw circles. When dry, dot the center of each circle with a contrasting color.

4. Place colored egg into holder!
