Periwinkle has a real knack for transforming "found things" into cool inventions - like strapping paperclip skate blades to the bottoms of Tink's boots when she slips on the ice. Inspired by their inventiveness, this charming necklace is the latest in frosty fairy fashion.

What you'll need
- Template for Fairy Ice Skates Necklace
- Scrapbook paper, 6-inch square each of green and white
- Tacky glue stick
- Scissors
- Pencil
- 2 silver paper clips (standard size)
- Glue dots
- 2 jewelry eye pins
- Mod Podge (or similar glue sealer) and small paintbrush
- Glitter glue
- Brown embroidery floss or yarn
- 2 tiny white pompoms or buttons
- Lanyard clasp
- Ball chain (or jewelry cord with a clasp attached)
How to make it
1. Glue the green paper atop the white paper to create a two-layer square (the white side will serve as the skate linings).
2. Print the template and cut out the pieces.
3. Using the reference lines on the templates as a guide, fold over the front edges of the skate cutouts to reveal the white paper "fleece" lining/trim, as shown.
4. Fold up the blade tab at the bottom of each skate back and then slide it through the side of a paper clip "blade," as shown. Use a glue dot to stick the tab to the inner skate back and hold the side of the clip in place.
5. For each skate, bend the stem of an eye pin into a loose loop, as shown. Use a glue dot to stick the pin to the inner skate back, positioning it so that the eye is 1/4 to 1/2 inch above the top, as shown.
6. Glue the skate fronts to the backs, matching up the edges and sandwiching the folded-up tab between them. Now add a little sparkle by brushing a bit of glitter glue on the white trim.
7. Once the glitter glue is dry, simply attach the skates to the lanyard clasp and then thread the ball chain through the clasp.
